Coldstream Mittens

Inspired by the cool, spring-fed stream of a blessed childhood, these mittens feature a rippled pattern on the cuff. Worked seamlessly in the round from the cuff up and featuring a gusseted palm for a better fit in five sizes of customizable length, these mitts will simply flow off your needles, and make a splash with your friends!
Suggested yarn
First Yarn: Angora Springs, Fingering weight, 3-ply, 80% Icelandic/Romney wool, 20% Mohair. Colour Dark Blue.
Approx: 200-240 yards / 183- 220meters.
Needles: Small circular (9” / 23cm) in size 3mm / US 2.5 for cuff and 3.25mm / US 3 for the length of the mitten. Optionally, Dpns, or Magic Loop can be used.
Notions: Stitch markers, stitch holder or scrap yarn for thumb stitches, tapestry needle for weaving in loose ends.
Gauge: 28 stitches x 36 rows in stockinette using a needle sized 3.25mm / US 3.
Size: Circumference 5.25 (6, 7, 8, 8.75) / 13.5 (15.25, 18, 20.25, 22.25) cm and length 9.5”/24cm. (Length is customizable).
Notes: To Finish the top of the mitten or when working the thumb, switch to Dpns / Magic Loop if needed.
